Each year we serve men, women and children from over 100 countries who come to the area for work and the military training. Our mission is to connect the Christian community to the international community, creating opportunities to share Christ with them, leading many to a personal relationship with Christ and equipping them to impact their world.
People often ask for tangible ways to connect their congregations with IFM.
Here are three practical ways your church can engage more deeply with IFM’s work of bridging cultures, building friendships and transforming lives:
1. Host a Cultural Awareness Training At Your Church with IFM
Become educated about the Tri-City's growing number of internationals. Learn more about their values, beliefs, perceptions and ways you can connect to build trust and friendships by becoming a sponsor family.
2. Mission Team Preparation
If your church participates in short- term mission trips, IFM is available to train your team for their cross-cultural experience. We will help you better understand the culture in the region you are visiting to prepare your team for effective ministry and communication.
3. ESL Volunteer Training
IFM teaches English As A Second Language to over 250 men, women and youth in our area each year. Host a volunteer training at your church for those who desire to participate in this important ministry.
We would like to connect as many Christian families as possible with internationals. Some are here only 6 months. Others are here from 1-3 years. This is a great opportunity for families in your church to establish friendships with wonderful people from many different nations. We have our very own mission field in our backyard!
